Three voices, three personalities, three stories. Three flavors that together like a golden, time-tested rule of taste, are simply delicious. Woolf is a resounding harmony that does full justice to the individual rough edges of singer-songwriters Marieke Smit, Mylène Berghs, and Ellen Tackenkamp; three musicians who met at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, and who have been inseparable ever since. During their studies they traveled all over the world in various formations to play their own projects and to supplement those of others. They sang legendary songs by the great songwriters of the world and learned the tricks of the trade. Woolf immediately stood out in the Dutch scene, was invited to 3fm, and played supporting acts during Celine Cairo's tour in early 2017. "This band is ready for the bigger stages," wrote LiveStreamMagazine after a concert in the Haarlemse Patronaat.

Woolf's music echoes of legendary formations such as Crosby, Stills & Nash with a hip modern edge that is reminiscent of The Staves. The three songwriters are inspired by everything that can and cannot be called music, and do not shy away from the abrasive themes of human life.

Spring 2020 saw the release of the versatile and well-received EP Woolf, produced by Paul Willemsen at Electric Monkey studios in Amsterdam. The record features Dutch star musicians, such as drummer Mark Schilders, bassist Hugo Den Oudsten, guitarist Luuk Janssen and multi-talented Maarten Hogenhuis who also had a hand in several mixes of the EP. And just as the 2020 release tour was slated, Covid-19 put an end to live music in general. Apart from a Garden Tour with 10 concerts in the summer of 2021, it was difficult not to be able to play live music, but fortunately that was more than made up for in 2022. WOOLF played the support act for The Delines and Frazey Ford and ended up on the most beautiful stages in our country. From De Oosterpoort to Patronaat and from TivoliVredenburg to Paradiso. The group blew the audience away with their warm harmony vocals and special compositions. At the moment we are working hard on the first full album!
